The second Volume of the Patent and Trademark Reference Series covers patents related to improvements in the axe manufacturing industry of the United States from 1892 to 1985. The "Big Book" set differs from the earlier "Historic Axe Related Patents of Interest" in both size and content. The two volumes of U.S. Patents includes all of the patents included in the earlier version, as well as patents that were not included. The patents also include the full, publicly shared patent application and registration, allowing researchers and enthusiasts a more in depth look into the patent itself, the images included with that patent, and the patentee and their witnesses. The format is also larger and included within a hardback cover for a more reference based feel and look. Room is left under each listing for research notes as well.
