Fireman's, Lugged

Characterized by the triangular (and sometimes round) lugs or ears extending below the body of the axe, the Lugged Fireman's axe, or Lugged Pick Head, is similar in form and function to the standard pick head. Care should be taken to understand that even though this pattern was popularized by "Seagrave" company fire axes, the Lugged Fireman's axe was available through numerous manufacturers, and the Seagrave Company was simply one user and seller of the style, not the manufacturer or the pattern itself.
