Kentucky, Southern
Southern Kentucky Pattern
The Southern Kentucky, as opposed to the broader Baltimore Kentucky, had a "narrow" profile, with the poll, face, and cheeks being more slender in dimensions than the Baltimore or Standard Kentucky. To continue to stay in a similar weight group, the dimensions would be elongated from bit to poll and from eye to eye, making for a narrower but more expansive head at a similar weight when compared to axes in the same pattern group.
